A southern Nevada nonprofit board that was once the state's largest anti-poverty agency is folding.
The Economic Opportunity Board has been dogged for years by investigations into mishandled funds.
Board director Lester Murray says the agency is laying off workers and struggling to meets its payroll.
On Tuesday, the Clark County Commission is expected to assume control and find new management for the agency's six remaining programs.
The board plans keep its nonprofit radio station, despite calls to sell it.
The Economic Opportunity Board started in the early 1960s. It had grown to be one of the region's largest non-profits, with an annual budget of nearly 60 million dollar before allegations of financial mismanagement surfaced in early 2003.
