[UK] Fuel poverty fightback

from The East Lothian Courier

HELP is at hand for vulnerable county residents living in fuel poverty.

For ScottishPower says East Lothian groups and charities who help those in need could be entitled to a share of £3 million.

The ScottishPower Energy Trust offers assistance to those who need to spend more than 10 per cent of their income on heating.

ScottishPower’s Claire Doherty says East Lothian should not miss out.

She said: “In the middle of summer most people won’t really be thinking of the cold months ahead but now is the time to be thinking ahead in preparation for winter.

“That’s why we are now urging people in East Lothian to make sure they apply for a share of the Trust fund money. We have trebled the fund in a bid to reach out to more people than ever before who are living in fuel poverty.”
